Addresses on behalf of the Representation of the Ukrainian People have been sent to the presidents of the six African countries on a peacekeeping mission to Kyiv and those traveling to St. Petersburg. The text of the document outlines the Peace Plan of the Ukrainian People as a basic document on the basis of which international efforts to resolve the political crisis in Ukraine can be shaped.
"The Peace Plan of the Ukrainian People proposes a ceasefire and the withdrawal of the AFU and foreign mercenary units from those territories whose residents have already voted in referendums in favor of joining Russia: the Zaporizhzhya, Kherson and former Donetsk and Lugansk regions. In the future, with the mediation of the international community and under its security guarantees, the same referendum should be held in the remaining regions of Ukraine, at which the citizens of Ukraine will be able to determine their own fate", - the secretary of the Representative Office, Dmytro Vasilets, said in the letter.
During a press conference after the talks with Zelenskyy, South African President Cyril Ramaposa said that the African countries were seeking a swift end to the Ukrainian conflict and the parties involved in it should start working as soon as possible to achieve de-escalation. At the same time, the South African Foreign Ministry said that the final framework document of the mission was not ready yet and would be worked out after its visit to Russia and Ukraine.
Dmytro Vasilets also added that the Representative Office of the Ukrainian People shares the anxiety of African leaders regarding the war between NATO countries and Russia and expressed hope for fruitful work to achieve peace as soon as possible.
